Skylight orchestrator keeps a log of actions performed by users in its web interface and of requests made on its web service REST API . This is known as the audit log.
Here are a few examples of the user actions that are registered in the audit log:
- Successful login
- Addition of a device
- Request for a manual resync of a device
For more information about audit log files (content and where to find the files on the Skylight orchestrator appliance), see the Skylight orchestrator Administration Guide.
How to Manage Log Files
Administrators can configure certain parameters of the audit log in the Admin ▶ Logging page.
The Max file size is always used. When the current log file reaches the maximum file size, no more log entries are added to that file and a new file is started.
For all files created, we delete files based on the other three maximum settings (listed in their order of priority).
Max used space
Max number of days
Max number of files
Normally, you should only set one of the following maximum settings (and leave the value of 0 for the other two). A value of 0 value means that the setting will be ignored.
The following table explains the parameters that can be set in this page.
Admin ▶ Logging page
Parameter | Description |
---|---|
Logger | Select a logger from the drop-down list. Currently only the audit logger (emsloggerAuditingBusiness) can be configured. |
