These articles, intended for Skylight orchestrator 20.05, include procedures that will help the personnel of mobile network operators, Cable Multi-Service Operators (MSOs), business and enterprise service providers to rehome a Skylight orchestrator installation from an existing installation (source installation) to a new virtual machine (target installation).

IMPORTANT: You cannot upgrade hardware to version 21.08 or above.

The following rehoming scenarios are covered:

  • Single node hardware running release 19.12 to virtual machine running 20.05 5K profile
  • Multi-node hardware cluster running release 19.12 to virtual machine running 20.05 30K profile
  • Virtual machine running release 19.12 or 20.02 is deployed on ESXi releases prior to 6.5.

The rehoming process entails a software upgrade. At the end of the process, the target installation will be running Skylight orchestrator 20.05. The source installation can be running one of the following software releases:

  • Skylight orchestrator 19.12
  • Skylight orchestrator 20.02

If your source installation is running a software release prior to release 19.12, please upgrade it to release 19.12 before starting the rehoming process.


Note: This procedure does not support SkyLIGHT Director Manager Module migrations. Please refer to the Skylight orchestrator 19.12 Administration Guide for more information on migration procedure.
